This is a fun Kouraken Hall main event for the NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Championships. LIJ come into this match as the reigning champions with a lot of momentum as Shingo Takagi also recently defeated Hirooki Goto for the NEVER Openweight title. Things open up with the LIJ heavyweight bullying around Robbie Eagles for a bit. At one point Ishii screams at Robbie to warn him of an incoming sliding lariat from Shingo only for Shingo to redirect and knock Ishii off the apron. Great touch and I can’t wait for those two get back into it over the NEVER Title. When Ishii finally gets to tag in, Shingo is quick to cut him off with a lariat in the corner, crumpling Ishii’s bad knee which was still in the ropes. It’s a great way for Shingo to introduce leg work into the match which Ishii sells at key moments down the line. Of course with this line up here, you can look forward to a lot of stiff shots from big beef boys slapping meat. Lots of that to go around. The finishing stretch focuses on the juniors as Robbie Eagles makes a sweet comeback to work over BUSHI’s legs. Some well timed black mist gets BUSHI the win to wrap up a very enjoyable, fast paced six-man tag. Not essential viewing but a nice little addition to my Robbie Eagles mini-project in preparation of his PWR Title match against Chris Panzer.
