This never fully comes together the way that I’d like. It’s perhaps a little too slow to get going at the start, and when it does finally begin into settle into what it would become, it feels like a lesser version of similar things we’d already seen previously. Andrade attacking Eddie’s leg isn’t quite as exhilarating as his attack on Dragon’s eye, Eddie’s leg selling here doesn’t feel nearly as momentous as against Garcia.
It does pick towards the back half though, and we even get some neat little moments I quite liked. For some reason, Andrade snapmaring Eddie fully out of the ring is burned into my mind as a really cool spot I’d love to see repeated a little bit more. Everything’s all good, but it never quite bursts through into the next echelon to be great.
