While not my favorite bout from either man in the tournament, I thought both came across far more motivated in this effort than previously. There’s a strong chemistry here, something about working with each other just brought a nice energy out of both men. Andrade, especially, displayed a certain fire here that was only really present in the Danielson match previously.
In the early goings when they’re chopping the hell out of each other, it’s some of the most urgent that either man has seemed in the tournament. I also liked Andrade being cast into a more babyface role here, he didn’t really have any chance to rest on his laurels in control. It also made for a great finish with Andrade having worked real hard to find a way to fell the big man.
Perhaps match of the night, not what I would have predicted from these two coming in.
