Honestly, this shouldn’t really work as well as it does. It’s on one of WWE’s blood money shows, a consistent home to stinkers outside of the one Lesnar/Reigns match from the end of last year. It has a truly unsavory line up (for reasons both in and out of the ring) that looks as thrown together as anything else the WWE does on a pretty much weekly basis. And the first half of this kind of plays out in that way too. It’s all mostly decent action without too much stupid outside of the truly lame removal of Lashley from the match.
But, as he always does, Brock Lesnar transcends these issues because he is a killer and probably the only wrestler left in the WWE who can do anything even remotely cool. He runs through the line up, satisfyingly knocking out both Rollins and Riddle within seconds. Am I fan of the fact that Austin Theory gets to make it to the finishing stretch? Absolutely not. Am I fan of that alleged creep getting tossed off the top of chamber pod with an F5? Yes.
It’s clear no one in the WWE matters to that promotion more than Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. That’s their fault, their problem to contend with. Brock Lesnar on his own? Still one of the greatest of all time and his greatness is on full display here.
