Brodie Lee vs. Dustin Rhodes (AEW Dynamite 9/9/20)

Dustin throwing hands with the big man that put his brother down. It’s a simple side story to keep Brodie occupied and it played out exactly the way that it needed to. Dustin comes out aggressively, taking the fight to the larger champion and taking the action down to the floor where they can both take some pretty decent bumps and trade some good shots. Lots of really great strikes in this one from both guys. Something as simple as that adds a decent sense of hatred to a TV main event like this. Dustin takes a lot of this match, running through his Old Man PWG routine by busting out a headscissors and the Code Red. It’s a great piece of business to pop the crowd and give this a feel good aura before the crushing reality of Brodie being younger and much stronger sinks bank in. Simple and effective TV wrestling here that does just what you want from it.
