Cody vs. Ricky Starks (AEW Dynamite 6/17/20)

This was a fun television match to introduce Ricky Starks to the roster. It was nice seeing him come in after his run on NWA Powerrr and he and Cody put on a great little showcase match for him here. Everything came off very crisp, the spots popped well, and there were even small moments that helped a lot to the proceedings like Cody and Starks bopping heads in the corner. It also has the great benefit of being a simple Cody TV match without any of the bells and whistles that tend to pull down his more high profile affairs. Simple wrestling done right to introduce a new worker to the roster. Doesn’t have to be complicated.
