Another match from the last night of NOAH’s Global Junior League. This one is the block decider between Daisuke Harada and Hajime Ohara. If you read my review on the finals, you’d know that I don’t have a lot of context and history on anything going on in NOAH right now so my impressions here are based entirely on the work in the ring.

And again, that delivers.

Harada and Ohara cut a much faster pace than Togo and Harada in the finals but they don’t sacrifice any of the substance. Even working a simple headlock, Ohara is able to work it at a brutal angle and cutting off Harada to make it look a little more brutal than your Orton-variety one. Ohara then focuses on taking out Harada’s back for the bulk of the match. He nails some great backbreakers here that might make even Roderick Strong blush.

And as in the finals, Harada’s selling is wonderful. After all the beating his back takes, everything feels like quite the struggle which makes his eventual victory all the more satisfying. This match is just a shade under the finals but it’s really great junior heavyweight action still. Give it a watch along with the finals to see an impressive one night performance from Daisuke Harada.
